• WidowMaker Double Deuce

The Ford Flathead WidowMaker Double Deuce is almost complete. I finished machining the fuel block today and did a mock up assembly of the unit. A little polishing, bending of copper fuel lines, and reassemble the unit is all thats left. There should be  new press release in Rod and Custom or Street Rodder in the near future.

New chopper pics are coming soon. The tranny was put in today along with the belt drive. Lining  up the belt can be a real pain in the ass.

Have a good holiday weekend and drink a cold one for me.

    Rick

  • Shop Projects

The 38 wiring is underway. An 18 circuit painless wiring setup was selected as this is a pretty bare bones hot rod. Just a rod for driving an being a nuisance to the locals . An old hoodlum if you will.

The wiring is pretty straight forward. Lots of stuff that is really not needed for my installation such as third brake lights, etc. We have the engine running with a (cringe) four barrel carburetor. That is going on eBay. (Anyone in the market for a good four barrel, give us a call) We have a XXX WidowMaker going on this car very soon along with a tuning video.

I include some pics of a nice pics of a chopper being built in the shop. Nice 70’s style loooong bike with a springer. Will turn like a Greyhound bus. FAR OUT MAN!

  • Welcome to “The Grease Monkey Journal”

    The WidowMaker Project

Hey everyone, SO-MO Speed Shops ”The Grease Monkey Journal” is on line.  Its been a real pain to get it going and I am sure there will be bugs to work out ……but we are online.

Its finally time to get back to work in the shop.  Above is a photo of our 1938 Ford Coupe Deluxe project. We will keep you posted on what is going on along with pics and articles.

I plan on having some good tech articles on other stuff  also and maybe even some tuning videos on how to tune a Stromberg tri-power in the near future.  Another project we have fired up is a new (old) intake for Flatheads we are going to call the WidowMaker Double Deuce. I will post photo’s and specs as soon as the prototype is complete.

We have lots of work and busted knuckles in our near future.

    Later,

    Rick
